I have been going to a community college for the past year. My husband tried online schooling and hated it. I live in the Knoxville, Tennessee area and I am debating whether or not to go to UT or go to Pellissippi State. I currently attend Roane State and hating it is putting it lightly. I was given a significant grant to go to Pellissippi this year and was accepted into UT last semester but didn't go. My dilemma is my husband works a job and is not home in the day and we are expecting our first child in mid-march early april. We are against daycare and do not want to put him in one. I specifically stayed home this semester to rest for my pregnancy and plan to go back in the fall. So I guess my question is, having a small child, about to attending nursing school for a LONG time (I am wanting to become a CRNA) and commuting 45 minutes would it be worth it to move eventually, or would you attend a closer community college for a semester then go to the 'big school'? We own our own home and last year we made all the renovations and improvements to it and have a sickeningly low mortgage, which is why I dont want to necessarily move, but the commuting makes a part of me wonder because I also got a brand new car last year and I don't want to run up tons of miles on it and also taking in to consideration the cost of gas. Also, I worry about the cost if we were to move eventually and also renters in our house. I worked in real estate for four years and I know what trashy people do to houses as I was a property manager. Our mortgage payment is 550~ and that includes taxes and insurance.... Read More »
