I have a 5 year old Tennessee Walker (16.3H) that I recently took off his shoes and would like opinions on if he would be a good candidate to go shoeless since he does have mule feet and they say mule foot provides little shock absorption to foot & limb, creating issues like sole bruising, corns, laminitis, navicular, sidebone, and ringbone. I use my horse for trail riding only. Elvis has had his shoes off for 2 weeks and is a bit tender which I expected, but don't want to continue if he isn't a good candidate since his hoof walls are steep.... Read More »
